Hello. It's a big problem that in Artlantis 6 disappeared such important function as "Fresnel transition" in such materials as water or glass. For this reason I had to downgrade to ARt5 for render my project with this option. If it possible to return "Fresnel transition" back ? It's no need to ruin things that works nice.
Hello Andgarm, I almost agree with you ... when I started with the V6, I was also accustomed to this parameter, I used it in many metal materials. But now in V6, there is a very effective Fresnel shader and a glass fresnel and I also changed my way to set up my shader and it's much better. Yanosh
I don't believe Fresnel transition disappeared in 6, it changed. Instead of a slider that provides a linear transition between reflection and transparency, reflection and transparency are now controlled independently via the color box. I believe this provides more control, not less (although it makes it more complicated as well).
I ran some quick tests of the settings with galls and water shaders just to see for myself how they work. I'm attaching my notes, should they be of interest. (will have to be in two posts).
Also, there is a video in the tutorials section (actually below the main tutorials) called "Artlantis 6 Workshop". About 36 minutes into the video, Fresnel is covered. Unfortunately, the audio skips some large sections here, but it will give you some idea of Fresnel function n Artlantis 6.
